I always use a speed handle to tighten the old tin style valve covers. It's
fast and gives you a good feel for how tight the bolt is. These old style
valve covers need only be on the tight side of snug. Much tighter and you
end up with a substandard seal that either leaks right away or at least
leaks prematurely.
