Put a light layer of silicone on the entire length of the cork or rail
gasket. I use my finger to spread it. Keep it thin, there is no point
in laying it down thick as it will just sqeeze out and into the engine.
We've taken many engines apart that have the oil pump screens plugged
up with pieces of silicone.
