Tap down on the top of the piston just enough to get the top of the
piston past the top edge of the ring compressor band. Now tap around
the top edge of the ring compressor band so that it is totally flat
against the blocks deck. I like to use the bottom of the handle of a
mallet as it gives me a better feel.
